ANGRY VOTERS SET IMO STATE INEC OFFICE ABLAZE
– INEC office in Isiala Mbano local government has been set ablaze by angry protesters
-The angry voters invaded the building on Sunday night and burnt down the building
Angry voters protesting alleged election fraud set ablaze the Independent National Electoral Commission’s office in Imo State.
It was reported by Vanguard that eyewitnesses claimed that the election materials has been moved out of the building before the arrival of the protesters
One of the voters who spoke to journalists in the state said: “we are not happy. How can they bring Ehime Mbano results of Okigwe south to Owerri?. Why wasn’t the results announced at the collation center of the Federal constituency in Ihette Uboama?.
Meanwhile, it was earlier reported that there was mild drama at the Imo West collation center after the INEC’s returning officer stopped collating of results and announced that he has been ordered to return to Owerri with immediate effect.
The returning officer who’s name is Professor I.I. Ibeabuchi said that, due to the urgent call from Owerri he will adjourn the announcement of the results till Monday morning.
However Governor Rochas Okorocha, who is a senatorial candidate to the All Progressive Congress ( APC ) stormed the collation center in the initial hours on Monday after Ibeabuchi’s announcement.
